Ilminster play

 Finaly we had arrived at Ilmenster to see their green gold play. When we were seated they started the play . One of the acters came and explained the mesage of the play, it was that if you drop rubish you should pick it up and encourage others to do so. 

First nanny koura walked into the seen. Then her two babby koura. They sat down on the floor and nanny koura started a story. It was about when she was young and she lived by a city and there was rubbish everywhere and most of it came from the skate park up the river. One day she decided to go and talk to the skaters and told them to pick up there rubish but they wouldn't listen. 

After that some aleins from outer space came to find a new place to dump there rubish. They found a concrete skate bowl that some kids had droped there rubish in and sent a mesage to there king to tell him they had found a suttable place to put there rubish. Then he arrived and started to dump some of there rubbish in the skate bowl, then they left when they left they dumped one if there robots in the skate bowl too. when the skaters returnd they saw the bowl full of rubish and thought they had to do something. So they went to nanny Koura to see if she could help. So nanny koura came and talked to the robots nd aleins and made them pick up their rubish.

After that I decided that I would pick up rubish and name and shame anyone ho doped rubish.

Murder Mystery SPaG

 I had come back from the feild and was prepairing for murder mystry SPaG, this is one of my favorite workshops. when everyone was sitting down they didn't stop talking in the end koka Pip made us line up outside. 

I was frustrated but she was the teacher. when we started we were told that we were to do proverbs.In our group we opened our envelope and cut out little squares with incomplete sentinces on each edge. in my group there was Harry M, Olly and Bramm. Our job was to complete the sentinces to find the clue to see who was the murderer  

We were the second group to crack the code so we got to go to brain break three minutes early. I could not wait to go to the next SPaG and I do not think the others could wait eather.

Hamunatua stream walk

 We were there and we were just starting to cross the stream for the first time. it was hard to belive that this small little stream was te big rivermouth that opened onto the beach of wainui beach. I was wearing gumboots so I just waddled through the water to the other side to wait and watch the other people with shoes on trying to jump across with no sucsess they were throwing there bags across and one girl threw their bag into the water and someone  reached in and grabed it just in time to stop it floating down the river some people weere wadding across even though they were wearing shoes. once everyone had come across we startred walking.

A few hills later we stoped for a quick brain break I sat by the river with Bramm, Olly, jaxon, Arthur and some other people. After that we walked for another 30 min later we came to a paddock with a few mother cows only one of them didn't have a calf and she was as pregnant as a cow could get as we walked past a group of bushs we all notised a dead calf lying on the grass then its ear twiched and we realized it was sleeping. Its tail was swishing around on the grass as well. we crept past it and the other cows and calfs mooed happily as we closed the gate behind us.

We continued to walk and walk and walk and slowly everyone started to get tired. then we saw it the end of the hamanatua stream it seamed to just melt into the ground like a ice cream. We stoped on the top of a hill to have lunch and admire the veiw it was amazing on one side of the valley there were more pregnant cows and a few little newborne calfs and on the other side there was a pond with a few ducklings and their mother. Then before we knew it we were on the way home. Past the calfs through the purere trees across the stream and all the way back to school. I couldent wait to go for another walk.   

Tooty Fruity city.

This is a recount about my famous fruit city, it is called tooty fruity. It has all the exiting things in the world including a watermelon wave pool and a dragon fruit cliff with gigantic caves and pools.

  

Coolest Of Math Groups!

 It was math and I  was rushing down to the mat at tahi. I always look forward to L3+ math. This time it was long multiplication. koka Ngairy started to write some questions on the board. This is what the questions where,

1.) 1.36 times 3

2.) 2.55 times 6

3.) 3.74 times 8

And those were the questions. after everyone had answered the questions koka Ngairy started to write the answers and suddenly I noticed that they where not decimal points it was the number of the question! I told koka Ngairy and it turns out that Harry and Nathan had made the same mistake. So I waited till they had finished editing the others math than tided up and left.      

Professional SPaG

It was spag and I was rummaging around in the book box till I found my everything book so I could go to spag. When we were all on the mat we were told to get into groups of four, I went with Olly , Bramm and Harry. Our ropu was given an envelope. Inside there was a few pieces of paper and they were all different colors. 

Koka Pip told us that we were to use the light green colored pieces of paper an on each of them there were little triangles with words on each side. We cut out the triangles and were told to mach the words so that the word with the opposite meaning was next to it. 

We had made one small one and thought that we were done but than Koka Pip said we had to make them all into  one shape so we did and It ended up saying,"the killer did not play an instrument that you blow into!" I thought this through and realised that it meant it marked of a hole lot of suspects.

Rugby practice!

 It was lunch and I was walking over to the reserve over on the other side of the field.  Ever since  I had injured   my shoulder I had been going over to observe instead of actually  doing the drills . "No way!" I said there were tackle bags and, believe the coach from the poverty bay rugby team. 

When everyone got there  we took a nee around the coaches Mike Kahu and Marty. The first drill was practicing blowing over. When they started I picked up a ball and started throwing it into the air.

After they had finished they played a game. I was tired of throwing so I started kicking. When the bell rang so I walked back to class so mum could pick me up for a doctors appointment.   

Old Balls Galore!

 These slides are about old soccer balls that aren't being used. If you want to learn how to hydro dip there are instructions in the slide and on youtube. We are also going to write messages about little blue penguins and how to protect them.    

Orange Math

 In strand we have been learning about volume , capacity , weight , liquid and mass. We have  used an orange and water to demonstrate how they all work. We also read the book "Mr Archimedes bath" about how he jumped in and out of the bath watching the water go up and down. 

The purple sunrise,

 I arrived at school with a bag ladened with equipment to make a smoothie. I was really excited, and really wanted to get started. Later on that day, we put our fruit and milk onto a plate. We waited for our turn and got started. We put our plate  of ingredients onto the table them koka Pip  started the Imovie Fist we introduce ourselves  then we began to do the steps. 

The fist step  was easy add 250ml of  milk into the mixer, then we started  the fruit we added two handfuls of  mango and then we added some mixed berries .Blueberries Blackberries and all the berries you can emagine. After the instructions we mixed it all together and poured it into some glasses one for Me one for Harry and one for Prince then we garnished it with pineapple but as I reached them Harry snached them and put them In the drink Instead of putting It on the glass!! I was so annoyed because I had spent about ten minutes making them to bring to school they were even cut In the shape of a star I was so disappointed I could have shouted out loud but instead I gave a small groan.

later on koka Noilan came to decide which smoothies were the best She tried ours She tried the next I was getting more nervous by the second When she tried the berry breeze smoothie she said no offence but I really really don't like this smoothie, In the end a smoothie team called the DNA  won first place. But who really cares there is always next time.         

         

The Best strand

 I was strand, Me and Harry were making our way to the mat I was really looking forward to  doing some math. But when we got there we found a table blocking the way we were confused. when Koka nairy arrived, she told us that we were learning about volume and capacity. She had brought a ice cream container , jar and a orange. I was really looking forward to finding out how it works.

Once everyone had arrived she told me to go fill up a drink bottle. Explained that when the orange went into the jar now fill with water it would make it spill out the side. It went up and down every time we put it in. We wrote what we thought would happen. But sadly all good times must come to an end. I couldn't wait to do it again!                

 

Back in the water again

 It was sunday, and Me , Luca , Ollie and uncle Matt we had packed all the surfboards and wetsuits to go surfing. We were going to No Access and it was pumping! We rushed to get our wetsuits on waxed our boards and ran down to the beach. I hadn't been surfing for ages and was dieing to get in the water. When we got in the water the cold rushed over me I jumped onto my board and started paddling. When I arrived out the back a big set rolled through and  I was forced to duck dive . When I popped up I had a brain freeze it was excruciatingly painful.

When the next set came I was ready for I paddled and caught it I popped up and just did turn after turn then on the end section I did a massive floater. When I paddled back out I saw Luca catch a wave and do turn after turn just like me it was so fun towards the end I started to get cold and Luca was to but for sum reason Ollie wasn't cold. When I came in I looked around in time to see Ollie do a massive air revers and he nearly landed it I was so exited and wanted to do it again!

No year sixes

This Is a quick presentation about our year five week when all the year sixes were at camp...

 There was only 13 kids in  the hole class. I was really looking forward to playing all the fun games koka pip had promised. like dodgeball and other fun games. 

                    

Emirates team NZ

 It was time we were all lined up ready to race. Over the last day we had been constructing  model boats for a race the aim of the race  was to stay afloat for the longest and sailed the best. My boat was called Emirates Team NZ after the boat from the America's cup I was so intrigued by their performance, I wanted to make a replica. I started by scrunching up a few pieces of paper for buoyancy then went over and did seven plus layers of tape. Then I rolled up a piece of paper so it was about ten centimeters long then taped it to the deck, I Then cut out some paper into the shape of a sail, it took Me a few tries to complete it but soon I was ready.

As we put our boats into the water I started a timer so we could tell who was the winner.         As we dropped them into the water I started shouting   "Go Emirates Team New Zealand!" my boat sailed away leaving the other boats behind then it turned around and went rushing back it even collided with a few other boats sending them flying in all different directions it was exciting just watching.

After about five minutes It was only Jimmy Emirates team NZ and strike left. Then a sudden gust of wind blew my boat and It tipped over I gave a big groan of despair as we were watching Jimmy sank and then we stopped I came second and strike came first I was really  annoyed. As we waked back we recounted what had happened, I carried the soggy boat out onto the deck. My boat stayed afloat for 6 minutes and 20 seconds.  It looked epic.        

school fun or school lame?

It was a dark and stormy night I woke up knowing I would have to go to school I dressed and got ready to go to school, I ate ten weetbix brushed my teeth then I played around with my soccer ball and cicked my sisters nettball to annoyed her and made my lunch and bed before I hugged my mum and nearly ran to school... Before realising that tiger  my cat was chasing me but  I kept running. when  arrived at school  I went  over to the field nd played soccer.

At school our term focus is our pepeha mounga roa te mounga , hamanatua toku awa , Te poho o rawiri toku marie. We went to everyone my personal favourite was the marie visit. We went on buses and got welcomed and went onside for some stories. We heard some very interesting stories about the old tribes that used greenstone clubs to battle over land and kai moana.  

It is now week 4 and we just saw our  new task tracker! Art to was even better than last  years art everything was getting better. my new teachers are Koka pip and Koka ngairi where doing extra fun art. For art we did twenty twenty  one art and some collaborative art  and pepeha art. We are going to do some digital art to work on.

                                                                                                                                                                          

                                                                                                                                                                          

 It was time It was time to go to interschool swimming sports, I was really nervous. Once they had called out who was going in each car we were of, In our car we had Rori, Cory and Arthur. We drove through town there was a lot of traffic for Gisborne, soon we could see it the enterprise pools, felt more nervous than ever we parked the car and waited outside. As we walked through the doors the smell of chlorine met our nostrils. We walked over to the stand and sat down after what seemed like hours It was time for my first heat.

As we waited we grew colder and colder I couldn't wait to get inside the worm building but I was wrong when I went inside the noise was deafening I could barely hear koka Lea over all the noise. We sat down in the chairs and waited for our turn. Then It was our turn we stepped onto the starting block "Get Set Go" we dove into the warm and soft water I stroked as hard as I could  I was on my first lap then my second before I now it I had finished and I had come second I jumped out of the water so relieved.

Now It was backstroke I was the best in my year and I was confident I went outside remembering my towel and waited then I got called "Archie from Wainui" I gave my towel to koka Lea saying "thanks" and heading of. Then again the long tiring wait Then "Get set Go" we flung our arms back and tried our hardest to reach the end and finally we reached the wall all my friends were cheering I felt proud again I came second.

Breaststroke time At school I had come second in school  and came second in the heat. We watched the butterfly and then It was time for the school relay. I was in the relay team from last year we prepared ourselves. The people in the team were Rori, Me Finbar,brook, Lola and charlotte. Brook would be starting us of then Finbar and so on. The boys were on one end and the girls on he other. the whistle blew and the race began we almost laped the other people we were going so fast. When the race ended we found out that central had bet us by one second they were in the other heat. When it was time we bet them by about three meters.

Then it was time for the other finals I was in everything except breaststroke.                           

Barrel time at lousels!!!

 I was the weekend and we were packing to go up to louisels we drove in the car I was so exited. When  we arrived the surf was junk and sloppy but I still went out, I     went out on my sisters soft top. Then my mum came out and I pushed her Into some waves. latter on the Daltons arrived and then the Mcfarlane's. We played around for a bit then Harry and Neko went out for a surf I watched them for about half an hour then I went out.

 It was pumping It was about half a foot and barreling hard. It was a left hand break and I was on my back hand not my for hand but I didn't care because this was my good side for barrels! After a few more minutes Luca tong came out  as Luca was paddling out I caught a wave and pulled up into a wide open barrel and it peeled all the way into the inside I was in the barrel for about 4 seconds! When I paddled out again I asked "did you see that or what!" 

The next day we went out ready to get barrelled again but when we went out we were disappointed but after time I got better.  We got barrel after barrel  again and again. I got at least ten or twelve barrels before I came in. When I came in I had so many rashes I couldn't count them, I had neck rashes, hip rashes, chin rashes and every other rash you can think of. My arms were killing me as well I couldn't even lift a chair!
